The latest research mentions that headache prevalence is higher at person with digestive tract disease symptoms like nausea, gastric acid reflux, and constipation than person that doesn’t have these symptoms. This research is published in Cephalgia Journal 2008.
Both of headache and gastritis symptoms are usually occurred to the population and depleting a lot of money. However, scientific literature, about headache and digestive tract complaint comorbidity, isn’t adequate enough. For investigating this problem, Dr.Anne Hege Aamodt and her colleague from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, reconsider a survey that is filled by 43.732 participants at Nord Trondelag Health Study included signs and symptoms of digestive tract disease and headache.
Had adjusted toward gender, age, depression, frightened, and the other factor that maybe influencing the result, The team found a higher prevalence of headache between participant that got reflux, diarrhea, constipation, and nausea than they who didn’t get these symptoms. The relation between headache and digestive tract complaint obviously rises with the increase of headache frequency, said Aamodt.
This result impacted the treatment for patients with headache. The important thing is to prevent the treatment of headache using drug with side effect at digestive tract that hasn’t got comfortable. The strong relevancy between headache frequency and digestive tract complaint frequency rise a number of question about the general mechanism that a patient with headache would get digestive tract complaint.
